About
Michalmas Cottage
Welcome to Michalmas
- a one bedroom, 200 hundred year old fisherman’s cottage,
situated in the heart of Meads, Eastbourne.
Meads was developed
in the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods and is a very
attractive part of Eastbourne.
Michalmas
is an ideal base for walkers, birdwatchers, beachcombers, nature
lovers and sun worshipers. It forms part of a row of four cottages,
with a tiny front garden and a small courtyard to the rear. The
cottage sleeps two. It consists of a double bedroom, bathroom,
lounge and modern kitchen.
The Downs
are only 200 yds away. They include the famous landmark of Beachy
Head and many of the footpaths lead to attractive downland villages
and beautiful scenery.
The sea is only 200yds
away, where there is the shore at Holywell and extensive promenades.
Walk west along the shore at low tide and there are many rock
pools. At high tide, as much as 20 - 30 yards of beach is left
revealed before the chalk cliffs, depending on how calm or rough
the sea is. Walk east along the promenades passing lovely buildings,
large hotels and beautiful flowerbeds towards the Bandstand, the
Pier and the famous Carpet Gardens. Further afield, Brighton lies
25 miles to the west and Hastings 20 miles to the east.
Eastbourne
and the surrounding area have many restaurants, cafes and pubs
with food outlets. Many of the hotels also have restaurants open
to non-residents.
