Enjoy a tranquil stay in the picturesque Meads Village area of Eastbourne and soak up all that this scenic spot has to offer. A romantic retreat for two, this spacious one-bedroom cottage is the perfect camp for a restful East Sussex seaside stay.

This calming cottage is thoughtfully decorated in chic coastal shades. Enter through the courtyard garden with outdoor furniture, perfect for catching the last of the day’s sun. The open-plan living and dining space is the ideal spot to tuck into a romantic evening meal, before collapsing on the cushy couch and making the most of the TV. Clamber up the cottage-style staircase to bed where you’ll find a king-size bedroom soaked in sunlight, where you can enjoy a DVD in bed before nodding off to sleep.

Located just 2 miles west of Eastbourne, Meads Village is the perfect destination for a couple who appreciate quieter and calmer surroundings. Less than 100 metres away, you’ll find yourself on the village high street, where a handful of shops, restaurants and independent pubs offer plenty in the way of shopping and eating out. Wander 0.5 miles down to the beach at Holywell: this traditional East Sussex beach is awash with shingle and is a more peaceful alternative to the busy beach at Eastbourne. However, 1.5 miles along the coast from Holywell is Eastbourne Pier where you can treat yourself to some traditional fish and chips. The property is also less than a mile from the edge of the South Downs National Park, home to the iconic Beachy Head beauty spot (2 miles).

The accommodation was excellent in all respects. De Walden Mews is delightful and the close proximity to the village shops, cafes etc was a huge bonus and satisfied all our needs. Access to bus routes and a few minutes drive to the town or the coast made for a stress free holiday.

Good location in a very pleasant part of Eastbourne plus only a short walk to the sea and the foot of the beautiful South Downs. A clean, comfortable home-from-home with everything you need for a relaxed stay away. I would definitely recommend Dovecote Cottage and very much hope to stay there again in the future.

The mews house is just lovely - fantastic position for walking into town along the seafront or up on to Beachy Head. Plus there are two pubs within a five minute walk and also a Tesco express which does fresh bread and croissants in the mornings. Parking is super easy, the neighbours are friendly and we wanted to move in and stay!
