A former coastguard cottage with stunning sea views and gardens. Wake to the sound of the sea, located next to the South West Coast Path, perfect to explore the attractions and fishing villages that hug the south Cornish coast.

Located in what is often described as the forgotten corner of Cornwall, Portwrinkle boasts two beaches, golf course and a licenced bar and café open to non-members. The neighbouring villages of Kingsands and Cawsands have all the amenities one could wish for including restaurants, traditional pubs and convenience stores. Closer by, in the village of Crafthole, you will find a small community shop, the Finnygook Inn and Aspects restaurant, only 3/4 of a mile away. For the walkers amongst you the glorious South West Coast Path is right on your doorstep, or for a spot of surfing try Whitsand bay. The nearby villages of Looe and Polperro are a must for a day trip. Take time to wonder the maze of streets, independent stores and maybe relax on the beach or the harbour. For those shopping days try the historic ocean city of Plymouth. Attractions in the area include, Antony House, Mount Edgecumbe House, karting, the Eden Project and many National Trust properties. For the keen golfers, there is an 18 hole golf course open to non-members very close by.

Upon arrival enter into the warm and welcoming porch that is shared with the adjoining Cottage. Enter into the lounge with open fire, the perfect place to relax after a day on the beach and put a film on the TV/DVD to cosy up to on a winters evening. From the lounge a door leads to the kitchen/diner. The kitchen area is just perfect for all your holiday home cooking requirements, consisting of an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. The bedrooms are located on the first floor and accessed via a staircase leading up from the lounge. The master, with king-size bed has glorious sea views to Rame Head to the east and Dodman point to the west and the second bedroom, accessed via the master bedroom, is a single. The shower room is accessed via bedroom two and consists of a shower and WC.

Heading outside to the front there is a picnic bench to enjoy the sea views. To the rear of the cottage, steps lead to elevated, tiered gardens a perfect spot to relax and watch the sun go down taking in the delightful panoramic sea views. The cottage parking space is restricted to one VERY SMALL car, to the front of the property (a Fiat Panda just fits). Other cars are able to unload at the cottage with a public carpark situated down the hill, charges apply, approx. 300m away. Regret no babies or children under 12

Beautifully clean and well equipped cottage. Lovely view from upstairs and thoughtfully placed bar stool type chairs. Be aware that the 2nd bedroom has the bathroom attached and both are accessed via the main bedroom

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage has everything (and more) you could need. Rose, the owner, greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming and helpful. I do feel it should be noted that the cottage is accessed via a steep hill. If you are unable to park in the allocated parking space it is a good walk from the car park. Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
