Admiral cottage is a very cute, clean and lovely place to stay. It is out of the way of all the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk to the centre of it all too. It benefits from two fantastic pubs at either end of the street who serve excellent food. Loads of beautiful walks and fantastic scenery on the doorstep too.

Very much enjoyed staying here on our first post-pandemic trip catching up with friends and family! Especially loved the comfy bed, big shower and private courtyard. It is in a good location - about a 30 minute pootle along the prom to The Pier and town. Or can go straight down to the shingle beach and white cliffs at Holywell or up onto the South Read moreDowns and towards Beachy Head. The car permits provided made it easy to park outside and mini-mart just down road was well stocked with essentials. Hide

It is a perfect location and a good cottage. The kitchen is well stocked and even in these difficult times, the village has sufficient amenities. It was an exceptional holiday for us and a good base for getting to know the area.

Very comfortable and well appointed, steep stairs could be a problem for some people. Parking permits, WiFi worked well. Quiet position, near local shops an two very agreable Pubs. Pleasant walk into town and South Downs Way just round the corner, excellent for walking.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
