Pretty terraced cottage located in the Little Chelsea area of Eastbourne, an area known for its quirky independent shops and eateries.

With Eastbourne’s famous Victorian pier and shingle seafront within walking distance, this pretty, traditional cottage is ideally located for a romantic coastal escape. Studded on a quiet pedestrian terrace within the town’s quirky, artisan area, you will feel a world away from everyday life.

The 19th-century property has striking period features throughout, including an attractive original Victorian fireplace in the lounge/diner – a welcoming spot in which to relax as you spend a quiet night in front of the TV. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first and second floors, where the laid-back, neutral aesthetic continues, giving a real homely feel. At the end of the day, whether you’ve been exploring the coastal footpaths or simply unwinding, retreat to the sunny rear patio for an al fresco drink or two - watching the stars sparkle overhead as you snuggle beneath a blanket, sheltering from the cool sea breeze.

Head down the path and under a brick archway and you will find yourself immediately on Little Chelsea’s unique high street, with a fantastic range of independent shops. Eastbourne’s main hub of coffee shops, restaurants and bars are also within walking distance – perfect for an intimate dinner or drink. Fans of the great outdoors will also be spoilt for choice here, with not only some of Sussex’s most picturesque beaches virtually on the doorstep, but the edge of the South Downs National Park is less than 1 mile away. Make sure you pack your walking boots because the dramatic panoramic view over Eastbourne and the English Channel from Beachy Head, a 2-mile walk from the property, is a sight not to be missed.

Patio full of weeds, windows needed cleaning and every time we we ran a bath the smell from the drains was terrible.

The cottage is in a great location, quiet & comfortable. Our only negative comment was that the pillows were very soft & flat.

The property is in a great location very close to shops and restaurants. However, it doesnt have its own parking space so you may need to park a while away depending on how busy it is. Check with owners about supplies as we had to buy our own hand wash, body wash, bin bags etc. Just so you are not caught out. Short walk to Tescos and beach and the Read morearea is very quiet, apart from church bells! Property is cosy and relaxing. Big bathroom and outside space is lovely. Hide

Great location. A bit small and cramped. We thought it was a bit expensive for the average facilities provided. But generally it was OK

We only stayed 1 night out of 3 due to both of us getting up with bad backs & lack of sleep due to mattress. We didnt feel it was value for money and the price was not competitive having now seen the property. Both of us were disappointed.

Very cozy and nicely sized cottage in a perfect spot at the center of Eastbourne. Restaurants, pubs, shops and public transport are all within a short walking distance but the location of the house is still very quiet and peaceful (except for the city hall bell). Great location close to shops and amenities and quite cosy interior. Bedrooms are compact but adequate and the beds quite comfortable, it is possible to get good nights sleep The stairs will be an issue for any but the fit and healthy they are steep and narrow

This was our first holiday with our dog and we were not disappointed. Eastbourne is an extremely dog friendly place and we were warmly welcomed in so many places. Lovely walks along the prom, Beachy Head was glorious, Birling Gap too. The weather that week was fantastic so we were lucky.

A lovely cottage in a quieter area of Eastbourne. I had a problem with the shower leaking everywhere. The bathroom could do with updating because of the inefficient shower.

The main issue with this holiday cottage is its location. There is extremely limited parking out on a main road that does not guarantee a parking space and if you do get one, unloading and loading is not that easy but then again I am a single parent with two boys and two dogs. Very clean and welcoming. Good heating. TV signal poor.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
