We were made very welcome and had the freedom which we were seeking. The lake is a superb place for a gentle walk in beautiful surroundings. The "cottage", really a Scandinavian style single room building, is spacious, well furnished and equipped and beautifully decorated. This is a property and location that you must not miss.

Lovely tranquil, peaceful cottage. Happily spent much time sitting on the decking area listening to all the wildlife and watching the koi carp lazily swimming in the huge pond. The owners, David and Shirley gave us a lovely welcome and showed us around. You can also buy some of their hot and cold smoked trout, which is absolutely delicious. Hide

Kingfisher exceeded our expectations and we had a marvellous week. The lodge is very well equipped and maintained and the setting is unbeatable. Totally private, with more outdoor space than the photos suggest. The family, who run the fishery, could not be more helpful or welcoming. You are free to wander round the fishing lakes as well as enjoy thRead moree deck watching the koi carp. The location is perfect, with beaches and other attractions within easy reach. Lovely private cottage with deck overlooking a private pond. Everything was spotlessly clean which as this was our first trip out since the pandemic made us feel safe and comfortable. It was a bit strange meeting the owners with all of us in face masks but they were very welcoming and we would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
