Located in a stunning rural area, this property makes for a tranquil retreat, whilst being close enough to the main link road to reach attractions further afield. Within walking distance is the traditional Cornish village of Mount Hawke, where you will find a handful of shops and eateries. It is also home to Cornwall’s largest indoor skate park. Just a short drive away are the seaside towns of Portreath, Porthtowan and St Agnes, with plenty of cliff top walks where you can see the old tin mines, or make use of the A30 and drive slightly further to one of the popular towns or attractions, including St Ives, Perranporth, Land’s End and St Michael’s Mount.


The beautifully light and airy lounge/kitchen/diner welcomes you into this superb property, with far-reaching views across rolling hills and spectacular countryside. Thoughtful finishing touches and welcome gifts give an immediate homely feel to the cottage, with a wood burner the focal point of the living space. Relax on the comfortable sofas, watch the TV/DVD, or enjoy a meal around the dining table while enjoying the stunning views, and in the summer months open the French doors onto the patio. The kitchen has been wonderfully finished, comprising of an electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker and fridge with ice compartment. Through to the cosy bedroom, which has lots of homely touches, is a double bed. The shower room features an electric shower and WC.
 

Sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful views on the garden furniture, or make use of the BBQ for some al fresco dining in the summer months. There is private off-road parking for one car.

Beautiful cottage, great location easy to reach most places in Cornwall. Cottage has everything you need, excellent local shops and takeaways fish and chips in St Agnes excellent.

The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. We liked the bee theme and decorations. The cottage was well equipped and the owners were very helpful. There was a really lovely view from the cottage. The location was good as you were close to several coves and was good for walks.

BumbleDown Cottage was one of the loveliest that we have ever stayed in, a perfect location, well appointed, comfortable bed & sofa's and enough kitchen equipment to prepare the simple meals that we prefer whilst on holiday. The owners were extremely welcoming & friendly. Altogether a perfect getaway cottage.

We loved the location of the cottage, quiet with beautiful views and just a short drive to the local beaches. Dorothy and Paul were very welcoming and had provided a lovely COVID secure accommodation, which had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be booking again in future.

Lovely little cottage in a great location with scenic views and your very own secret garden area. Owners are on site to help if necessary and are very friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage as a great base for touring Cornwall.

This is a beautiful cottage for two, very private with gorgeous views over rolling farmland, we even had our own resident pheasant! It is so light and airy it is a delight just to sit in the sitting room and stare out of the windows, no need to go touring at all Perfectly located for all of Cornwall and has some great walking right on the doorstep.Read more Dorothy and Paul have put a great deal of effort into making sure Bumbledown is well equipped with everything you could want for a relaxed holiday. Just what we had hoped for, Bumbledown Cottage gave the impression of being in the middle of nowhere but was only minutes away from Cornwall's motorway giving us easy access to explore the whole county with ease. Easy to find from directions supplied. Very quiet location, with good local shopping in village. Easy access to A30 to get anywhere. Owners very friendly and unobtrusive. Responded quickly to a small problem.

We loved the cottage and its position, equipment was reduced due to the restrictions with the Corona Virus, but it did not have an impact on our stay. Dorothy & Paul were great hosts and on hand if we needed any help, even bless them collecting our Curry for us on our last night!

The cottage is in a perfect quiet location with many beaches and places to visit within a short distance via car. The cottage was just as we had hoped, immaculately clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We felt at home immediately and very safe and relaxed, which was a relief in the present Covid climate. The owners were lovely, we felt like nothing would have been too much trouble, although we didnt need anything. Would recommend to anyone.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
