With the quiet local beach of Holywell within walking distance, this traditional cottage makes the most of its harmonious seaside location. Kick off your sandy shoes and relax in the classic lounge, where the bay window floods the room with natural light. When the sun isn’t warming you, switch on the flame-effect fire and transform the spacious room into a cosy oasis – perfect for those nights in watching a film or curling up with a good book. Wake up to pretty garden views from the bedrooms, perhaps heading outside for an al fresco breakfast on the garden’s patio.

You’ll find the cottage in popular Meads Village, where a fantastic choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes will happily solve any debates over who will do the cooking while you are away. The start of the South Downs Way is also within walking distance, a fantastic route that leads as far away as Winchester. Why not take the 2-mile walk up to the incredible vantage point at Beachy Head, where you can enjoy a well-deserved drink at the cliff-top pub as you soak up the magnificent views over Eastbourne and the English Channel.

Great house in the best location within Eastbourne. However the house does need refurbishment throughout, particularly kitchen and bathrooms. The outside space (back garden, patio area) is fantastic for families in summertime.

A lovely cottage with a nice little courtyard/garden in a lovely area of Eastbourne, every thing you need close by, shops, cafe's and two pubs with great food, breath taking walks and sea five to ten minutes walking, also a good bus service into town if you want to give the car a rest.

Carley cottage is a clean, pleasant, 3 bed house with outdoor garden areas ideal for a family with a dog. It should be noted there are some extra steps between some of the rooms. Some parking permits were provided which were very helpful. It is situated close to the start of the Beachy Head walk, as well as the Helen Gardens and the Pilot Pub. Lovely homey, comfortable house. I was rattling around on my own (with two dogs) in a three bedroom house, which seems ideal for a family or group of friends, I felt very spoilt and so did the dogs, as the little enclosed garden was ideal for them. We had stayed before so were looking forward to returning. The cottage was in need of hoovering on arrival, which I had to do. The garden had a gap where my dog got through! Great property and fantasic location 5 minutes walk to beach and start of Beachy Head walk. About 20 minutes walk to Pier. Could be improved with better crockery, utensils, cutlery etc. for a small cost relatively. Would definitely return though, as love Eastbourne. Also great for a train journey to Brighton.

Comfortable cottage in an excellent position for Meads village and the prom. However the points mentioned above do let it down somewhat and would be very easily rectified. The garden is pretty and a nice quiet spot to relax in. I would recommend the cottage to a friend but with certain reservations.

We had a really enjoyable, relaxing break. An early morning walk on Beachy Head was a wonderful start to the day & a walk down to the town in the afternoon meant we came home fitter! My husband also made use of the regular number 3 bus. Corona meant that we didnt eat out & stayed local, but Eastbourne had all we needed.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
