Nestled in a peaceful setting within walking distance of the East Haven coastline, with splendid sandy beaches to explore. Only two miles from Carnoustie, famed for its championship golf course. Enjoy an array of water sports including windsurfing, canoeing and sailing in the towns large shallow bay. Within easy reach of the historic town of Arbroath, famed for the Arbroath Smokie, with its splendid abbey, historic harbour, long sandy beaches and stunning sandstone cliffs. The vibrant city of Dundee is close at hand, with its excellent shopping and leisure facilities. The immediate area is perfect for walking, cycling, mountain biking and hiking with wonderful coastal paths, woodland walks, country trails and the magnificent Angus Glens, all within easy reach.

The bespoke kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and instant boiling water from the tap, so no need to wait for the kettle to boil. Enjoy a meal in the lovely dining area, taking in the splendid views over the front garden. Next you are met with the beautiful, spacious master double bedroom with TV, and wonderful views over the garden and surrounding countryside from the delightful window seat. Completing the accommodation is the stylish shower room with rain shower and WC.

Venturing outside, you will find the fully enclosed front garden with seating area. Ideal for al fresco dining and to enjoy the views over the beautiful countryside, perhaps with a good local ale or a nice glass of wine. There is also an abundance of wildlife and birds that visits the garden. There is ample off-road parking directly in front of the property.

This is a brilliant cottage in wonderful surroundings. The owners make you feel very welcome in their own grounds. The advice given in the guest books is excellent and very helpful when planning your days out. A lovely tranquil cottage in a great location to explore the Coast. A wonderful welcome pack and lots of tips and information to help you enjoy your stay. A nice enclosed garden which was full of birds.

Hatton Lodge is a lovely little cottage in a quiet location. It is beautifully furnished and is extremely comfortable and homely. We enjoyed exploring the beaches and coast. The birds at the feeders on the tree right outside was an added pleasure.

Fabulous cottage for 2. Cosy and warm. Great location for getting about but in a quiet and secluded location. A very comfortable bed and lovely shower. Kitchen area is small but totally adequate for a holiday. Close to a long sandy beach with a car park. Arbroath is a short drive away with several supermarkets, butchers and fresh fish. Boughty FerrRead morey is in the opposite direction and also has a good variety of shops. An hour takes you into the glens. Hide

The cottage is very clean well equipped with everything you need for the week. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of space in the cupboard to put all your clothes. They have a lovely starter pack to welcome you to the cottage, also well equipped for dogs with treats towels and bowls.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Hatton Lodge. The owners left us welcome gifts which we and our dog enjoyed. A lovely touch. Cottage was spotless and homely. The secure garden for the dog was a bonus. Hope to return.

Hatton Lodge is a beautiful cottage set in Angus countryside near Carnoustie. We slept so like logs the bed was so comfy. The attention to detail was fantastic. A lovely selection of books for guests to read. There was a very interesting information book about the area. The fenced in garden with lots of birds feeding off the bird feeders in the garRead moreden. It was lovely to sit and watch them from the window. The wood burner was so cosy. The cottage is perfect for a short break . East Haven beach on the Angus coastal path can be reached in a few min by car. Perfect for long or short dog walks . The towns of Carnoustie and Arbroath are worth a visit .

This is a beautiful cottage which was immaculate and has everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The welcome gifts were delicious and much appreciated. The owners were very helpful and welcoming with nothing too much bother. There are so many beautiful walks - from the cottage and also a short drive away. Definitely recommend Hatton Lodge.

Second time visiting and so happy we did. It is so peaceful but not too far from everything. Even on rainy days you can sit and listen to bird song. We saw all sorts of birds, a hedgehog and a squirrel just in the garden. There are beautiful beaches nearby and shops are only 5 minutes away. The strawberries were beautiful and sweet and you can get Read moreloads from the nearby farms. Dogs are welcomed with some treats too and both of ours loved them. We will be going back again. Hide

Cracking wee cottage in a great location near the coast. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog and the owners are very friendly giving us the run of their garden for our dog. Highly recommended this cottage for a peaceful holiday. It has everything you need to chill and it's not far to great beaches. Many thanks for a great stay

It's a beautiful place, fantastic home from home, it has everything you need, comfortable bed, modern kitchen, awesome shower, comfortable sofa, peace and quiet for a week, I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Cottage was perfect country retreat to relax and unwind providing everything for a comfortable stay. Our dog was made welcome and had an enclosed garden to keep her safe. Beach only 5 minutes away and lots of good places to walk. Owners very friendly and helpful and there if we needed them. The cottage was one of best we have stayed in, lovely.

This is a fabulously pretty and cosy cottage in a great location with all the equipment you could need. The property is in a lovely area with lots to do and some beautiful beaches which were almost deserted when we visited in November. We were very lucky with the weather - crisp autumn days made for lovely walks. Highly recommended.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
