Property code: EHC40

Ground-floor apartment situated on the outskirts of the historic village of Pevensey, a short drive to Pevensey Bay's quiet beaches, and a perfect base to explore the south coast.

This pretty little ground floor apartment is set just outside Pevensey village and makes a perfect couples’ retreat for those wanting a break from busy lives, or a solo traveller looking for a peaceful semi-rural location. You can immerse yourself in English heritage at Pevensey Castle on the edge of the village, or take a 2-mile stroll down to Pevensey Bay for a little sea air.

This bijou, open-plan apartment is bright, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The kitchen area serves you well with everything you need to cook a romantic meal for two and leads into the dining space where there are comfortable sofas to sink into at the end of the day with a favourite film to watch. The private courtyard garden is delightful with a table and chairs for you to eat alfresco if the weather permits. Perhaps sit outside on a summers evening with a glass or two and enjoy relaxed conversation or a good book. The double bedroom is very welcoming, and the bathroom hosts a wet room-style shower.

Pevensey Castle has history oozing from the ancient walls with dungeons to explore, resident ghosts and beautiful grounds. There is a cafe and restaurant for refreshments and even the occasional medieval joust to enjoy. Only 4 miles away is Eastbourn, with its long beach, and Victorian Pier hosting eateries, bars and music venues, and the Towner Art Gallery for culture lovers. Further afield at 14 miles is Hastings, with the historical theme continued and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants to experience.

Very clean and comfortable, finished to a high standard. Good location with a great seafood restaurant at the end of the road with the bonus of the castle, tea room and a couple of good pubs in walking distance. Would definitely recommend.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
