The property is attractive and comfortable, a good value holiday centre. We had hoped for some good local walks as we took our dog but no such options were obvious due to traffic through village. Overall, however, the holiday was a success due to the many visitor attractions within a very close distance.

An attractive and welcoming property just right for two people. Well designed, clean, bright and light with some interesting barn features incorporated into its structure. We enjoyed our four days at Little Gem. The weather was wonderful and purely by chance we chose the weekend when the Battle of Hastings reenactment was taking place which was very enjoyable. The property is very quaint with beams and very tastefully presented. The welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs, biscuits and wine was very much appreciated. Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
