Feel welcomed and warmed as soon as you arrive in beautiful Meads village and enjoy your stay on the East Sussex coast. This cosy fisherman’s cottage is an idyllic retreat for two guests to enjoy a romantic break and provides all the necessities to unwind and take in some fresh sea air.

 

This compact white terraced house sits on a winding street, evocative of traditional British seaside towns. This coastal theme continues throughout the property, where blue and white decor and sumptuous furnishings offer a calming atmosphere. Enter the property through the flower-filled front garden and head straight into the lounge area, where a Smart TV is mounted above a wood burner, creating a cosy haven to relax on cooler evenings. For sunnier nights, rustle up a bite to eat in the well-equipped kitchen and head out to the sunny private courtyard to the rear of the property. Up a cottage-style staircase, you’ll find a comfortable double bedroom with a wrought-iron bedstead, and a nautical themed bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

 

With the quiet Holywell Beach around a mere 5-minute walk away, the property is ideal for a couple looking for a beachside holiday. Take a small detour through The Helen Garden for a scenic stroll or enjoy a 1.5-mile coastal walk to the nearby town of Eastbourne and treat yourself to freshly-caught fish and chips. This route will take you past the historic defensive building of the Wish Tower and Eastbourne’s iconic Grand Hotel. Head west into the South Downs National Park and enjoy the 2-mile hike up to scenic Beachy Head, stopping at the pub on the way.

Lovely comfortable bijou cottage. If you're unsteady on your feet you might find stairs a tad awkward. Comfortable bed and adequate kitchen. Felt relaxed and happy there.

Nice cottage, good location just a few minutes walk to the beach. No off road parking but the parking permits helped with on street parking. Nice to have milk waiting in the fridge along with tea and coffee in the kitchen. I wasnt familiar with the heating system and there were no instructions so I couldnt get the radiator in the lounge to work. HoRead moreuse needs some remedial work to rectify some black mould in bathroom and bedroom. Hide

We had a lovely time Cottage was very lovely small but everything we needed great having a washing machine The tea coffee milk and biscuits were appreciated Excellent position near the beach and Beachy Head with a nice walk along the front into Eastbourne Next to a pub which is well worth a visit for a lovely meal

The cottage was clean and tidy and in good condition. there was everything that we needed. The stairs were quite steep and could be a problem for those who might be elderly or infirm. However, we are in our late 70's and managed OK. The parking system worked although sometimes marred by others inconsiderate parking.

Really lovely cottage with all mod cons which is ideal for 2 people. Very clean and welcoming. Fresh cut flowers, milk and cake left for us. Also parking permits making it easy to park. A beautiful cottage, just a short walk (20 mins) from the sea front. The cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. With only 4 rooms the cottage is ideal for a couple. The bed is comfortable. The front room spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped. There is a lovely bathroom with a bath and a shower. Cosy, comfortable cottage with all you need. Very comfy bed. Good shoer. Well equpped kitchen Sunny courtyard in the morning forbl brealfast and sunny out front in where you can put a chair to read/catch the rays. Perfect location away from hustle and bustle but near enough town for scenic walk along seafront or climb up to beachy head Local supermRead morearkets, good coffee shop, couple of restaurants 5 mins away and The Pilot pub on the doorstep. The cottage is attractively furnished, comfortable and very good value. The location in Meads is very convenient, with the South Downs path, beach and local shops close by.

Lovely cosy cottage for two ideally located for seafront and Beachy Head. Local shops nearby and also two pubs serving lovely food. Pier and town centre a 20 minute walk along the seafront or hop on the regular bus service.

Quaint cottage with easy access to the downs and sea front. The cottage is good value for money, it is a two up and two down but its cosy and good for a weeks holiday.

Excellent cottage for two in a great location for Meads, the Downs and walking on the seafront to Eastbourne. Would recommend the Pilot next door (35 steps from gate to pub) good food and a great beer garden. If you want home cooked food without the cooking try Cook at the top of Meads high street for a range of meals you can cook in the oven. ChinRead moreese in Meads is good and Sunday lunch not bad at the Ship, but not as cosy as the Pilot. Would recommend a stay at this cottage. We will return soon. Hide

Perfect holiday home for two all essentials close by pup round corner but ship down the road has much more room great food. Lovely scenery but Eastbourne centre is a long walk land train is available tho

An attractive cottage in a good location but lacking in some kitchen equipment. Parking was easy, we were able to park outside the cottage every day. We only used the car once during the week. It was a comfortable cottage.

We had another comfortable stay at Michalmas Cottage this is our third stay, it is a perfect cottage for two people. We love the quiet location in the Meads area of Eastbourne, but some people may find it a little far from the town. The cottage is situated at the foot of Beachy Head so great for walking the downs. Lovely little cottage great location if you want to dine at the Pilot booking recommend. We went to the Rathfinny wine estate for lunch which was excellent. We had afternoon tea at The Grand and preferred Pevensey Bay to Eastbourne beach as much quieter and easy to park.

The cottage was extremely comfortable and the location was perfect . It was a very tranquil area and the access to the sea and countryside was very easy . The cottage is very cosy and very well equipped for a comfortable stay for two people. The location is perfect for long walks along the sea front and the start of the cliff top walk to Beachy Head. Theres a good pub right next door and a small rank of shops, including a small Tesco, a couple of minutes away.

I have recently had my second visit to the cottage. I cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. I will most definitely be visiting again. The owner leaves, flowers, milk and a cake on arrival which is a really nice touch. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and in a fabulous location.
