Stylishly updated Victorian property, which can sleep up to six guests, located one mile to the west of Eastbourne town centre, in the popular Meads Village area.

This property enjoys a fantastic location where guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Meads Village, whilst still being just a twenty-minute walk or a short bus ride away from Eastbourne town centre. The town is known for its beautiful Victorian pier, as well as the luxurious Grand Hotel, where visitors may like to enjoy afternoon tea, or book a sumptuous spa day. For more adventurous visitors, there is a great water sports centre which offers tuition in a variety of activities, whilst the South Downs National Park can be found just a ten-minute walk from the cottage, offering hours of walks in some of the country’s most breath-taking scenery.

Two steps lead up to the front door of this property, brining guests to the attractive lounge/diner. This dual-aspect room has a large bay window at the front, in the lounge area, where guests will also find comfortable seating, and a TV/DVD. The dining area is situated towards the rear of the room overlooking the garden, and offers a dining table which comfortably seats six. The kitchen, which is next to the dining room is a lovely bright room and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. On the first floor there is a twin room which overlooks the front of the house, as well as a tranquil single room which has the benefit of an additional pull-out bed which can be used to accommodate a sixth guest. The main bathroom can also be found on this floor, a very well-appointed room with a roll-top bath, separate shower cubicle, and a WC. Next to this there is also a convenient separate WC. Stairs lead to the second floor where the master bedroom suite is situated. This room feels like a quiet retreat from the rest of the cottage and offers a king-size bedroom as well as an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. Please note that this bedroom is situated in the eaves of the house, and therefore has sloping ceilings and some reduced head-height.

Outside, there is an enclosed patio to the rear of the property with garden furniture, making it the perfect place to relax over drinks at the end of a busy day.

We Have spent a wonderful vacation in Rose Cottage here in Eastbourne. All the time we felt at home. Our children loved the beach, the castles nearby and of course the Airshow. That was an unexpected highlight. I am sure we will come back sometime.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
