Spacious end-of-terrace cottage, tastefully styled with a light and airy feel, situated just a short walk from Eastbourne town centre and just 200 yards from the seafront.

This property enjoys a fantastic location, just a fifteen-minute walk from Eastbourne town centre. A short walk to the end of the road brings guests to the seafront Royal Parade, where they will find the shingle beach, as well as an adventure golf, and a choice of cafes. Just a few minutes’ walk west along the seafront is the impressive building of the Redoubt Fortress, whilst about the same distance to the east, there is a fantastic water sports centre, offering lessons in a wide range of activities, including paddle boarding, powerboating, and kayaking.

This property has two front entrances, either via stairs from the street down to the lower-ground floor of the property, or up a flight of external stairs to the property’s ground floor. The lower-ground floor is home to the kitchen/diner, a well-equipped space which offers a double-oven, hob, fridge, and dishwasher, as well as a dining table seating six and patio doors which open onto the garden. The adjacent laundry room is where guests will find the washing machine, freezer, and an extra sink, and next to this, a family bathroom with bath with shower over and wc. There is also a lovely, bright family room on this floor, which is an ideal space for playing games or reading, or watching TV. Stairs lead to the ground floor where the elegant lounge is located. This room is at the front of the house and is a wonderfully light space thanks to the large bay window, there is comfortable seating here, as well as a TV, DVD, and a flame-effect gas fire which gives this room a lovely cosy glow. Two of the property’s bedrooms can also be found on this floor: a twin room and a single, along with a shower room with WC. On the way up to the first floor, a door from the landing opens onto a mezzanine terrace with sea views, passing this, guests will come to the master bedroom suite. This spacious room, with a large bay window, is a wonderfully tranquil retreat with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with WC. There is also an additional room on this floor which has a fold-out single futon, ideal for accommodating a sixth guest if needed.

Outside, the property enjoys a sea view terrace, which is accessed through a door on the first-floor landing, as well as pretty patio garden on the lower-ground floor. There is a table and chairs here, and its location just off the kitchen/diner makes it the perfect spot for enjoying al fresco dining. There is a dedicated parking space for one car just next to the house and unrestricted roadside parking subject to availability.

best thing is the location, close to seafront, otherwise the property really needs an overhaul to improve decor, comfort, cleanliness and up to date kitchen appliances, eg kettle and toaster.

We did not receive any welcome pack. Which was advertised. Disappointed .

Very comfortable and great location for a short break.

Serfaus House is in a perfect location and is a brilliant size for large/extended families. We have stayed there three times now and have, every time, been very happy with the facilities, cleanliness and welcome.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
