Property code: BT072

Exuding charm and style throughout, this beautiful beach house makes the perfect retreat for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. Admire the seaside views and explore the surrounding countryside.

This beach front property is situated right on the beach at Pevensey Bay, with its quiet, shingle beach. Just a few minutes’ drive from the property, or easily within walking distance, is the village of Pevensey with its striking castle, now an English Heritage site. Further along the coast, both within a 20 minute drive are the towns of Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea. The De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill, is now a stylish contemporary art gallery and is not to be missed.

The front door opens into a small porch where you can leave your coats and boots before continuing through to the hall and small kitchen beyond. Here you’ll find an electric double oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher (a microwave is available on request). Once you’ve finished preparing your meals, enjoy them in the dining room, which is light and bright with a brick fireplace with coal effect fire and seating for six. Internal French doors connect this room with the lounge, which is similarly airy thanks to sliding glass doors to the patio. There is ample seating to sit and enjoy the views out to sea. There is a TV with DVD player, and the owners have left books and binoculars to provide extra entertainment throughout your stay. As well as a bright and clean family bathroom with basin, WC and bath with overhead shower, there is also a twin bedroom on this floor, with views to the garden. There is a turned staircase to the first floor you will find the master double bedroom, which is a serene and tranquil space with fabulous views to the sea, a vaulted ceiling, crisp white linen and a door leading out to a roof terrace (suitable for adults only). There is also a single bedroom on this floor, which benefits from lovely views over the sea and a separate WC.

Outside, a patio area is the perfect spot to enjoy a summer BBQ or morning coffee looking out to sea. The patio gives way to a lawned garden that runs straight down to the shingled beach, allowing you to make the most of this spectacular location all day long. The washing machine and separate tumble dryer, garden furniture, beach toys and BBQ are stored in the boat house as you enter the garden.

There is parking near the property for a maximum of 2 car, and additional roadside parking, subject to availability.

Please note there is a refundable £300 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We loved our week away at this house. We were 4 elderly people, ages ranging from 76-91 all family but living far apart, coming together for a reunion and we found your house exactly right. It was so relaxing with space, comfort and convenient and delightful in every respect. We never got tired of walking along the beachor sitting on the many seatsRead more in and out, watching the changing skies and the sea birds swirling around.Of course we went out too, it was lovely to come back to Seymour Cottage and we hope to come again next year, thank you for allowing us to share your house for a little. This cottage could not be in a better position for sitting and viewing the sea and the beach. You literally just open the gate from the garden and you are on the beach.

Lovely comfortable property with beautiful views! Shame there was a house renovation going on next door the week we were there, hence the low comfort rating which would have otherwise been a 5. Not the quiet week away we had hoped for! Parking is issue if you have more than 1 car.

Such a beautiful cottage in an idyllic location! It was even more beautiful than we expected and the photos online certainly dont do it justice! It was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. We loved it so much that we didnt explore the area as much as we thought as it was so lovely to relax in the cottage and step out onto the beach.

An absolutely lovely cottage in the perfect location. It is very well equipped and an ideal base for a relaxing holiday. We spent many hours doing nothing more than watching the changing colours of the sea and sky but we did manage a fair bit of walking, a lot of swimming and three visits to nearby castles. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
