Attractively styled cottage sleeping five guests, located in the historic Redoubt area of Eastbourne, located just 200 yards from the beach and several seafront cafes.

This property is situated just half a mile east of Eastbourne town centre, in the Redoubt area of the town, named after the imposing fortress which stands guard on the seafront. The fortress is open to the public and offers a fascinating glimpse at the town’s past. There are daily tours during the summer season, and a cafe which makes a great place for lunch or simply for coffee. Next to the fortress, the Pavilion offers spectacular sea views from its tea room and is also used as an exhibition space. The town’s beach is a wide shingle beach which stretches for three miles from Holywell in the west down to the town’s marina entrance in the east. At low-tide the shingle gives way to sand, and the central area is staffed by lifeguards during the summer months, making it ideal for families with children.

On arrival at this stylish cottage, the elegant and calming atmosphere of the lounge makes it easy for guests to relax and unwind after their journey. The bay window floods the room with light, whilst there is a comfortable seating, and a TV/DVD. Moving through to the separate dining room, guests will find an attractive room with a dining table seating six and patio doors which lead out to a decked seating area. The kitchen, meanwhile, has a bright, contemporary feel and offers a second dining table alongside an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, as well as doors which open onto the patio. The property’s three bedrooms are located on the first floor. The first of these is a restful king-size room, with a wardrobe and chest of drawers providing plenty of space for storing clothes. The two further bedrooms, a twin and a single room are both equally as tastefully decorated and well-furnished as the master bedroom. The bathroom, also on the first floor, has a bath, shower, and WC, whilst there is also a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor.

To the rear of the property, accessed through either the dining room or the kitchen, there is a patio garden with a decked seating area for which the owners have provided a table and chairs, perfect for relaxing with a coffee in the morning or perhaps a glass of wine in the evening. There is unrestricted roadside parking to the front of the property.

We've seen a lot and really want to come back. Eastbourne is a nice place. Visited Beachy Head, the pier, music and food festival, shopping, eating out, visited Hastings and Brighton and London.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
