Set in the heart of the seaside village of Saltdean, this stylishly designed holiday home provides a fantastic seaside getaway for couples and families, and is perfect for keen walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the South Downs National Park
This dog-friendly three-bedroom property with an enclosed garden is just under half a mile from the white cliffs and shingle beach of Saltdean and the Saltdean Lido, the only Grade II* listed lido in the UK. With Brighton just 5 miles away and a range of shops, pubs and restaurants within half a mile, this is a convenient base for a family group wanting to enjoy a seaside break in this lovely corner of England.
Leave your jackets and shoes in the hallway and make your way to the lounge, an ideal space to relax after a busy day swimming, shopping or exploring the area. Curl up by the wood burner in the evening as you plan the next day, cook up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen and eat in the dining room overlooking the garden. The snug with patio doors is a lovely place to have some quiet time, perhaps in the morning with a coffee made using the Nespresso machine. The first floor is accessed via cottage-style stairs from the hallway where the three bedrooms, separate WC and bathroom can be found. The fully enclosed garden has patio furniture and a charcoal BBQ that’s perfect for warm evenings and al fresco dining, and private parking is available for two vehicles.
If you can tear yourself away from the lido and shingle beach just half a mile away, you might want to visit the historic county town of Lewes (6 miles) or the vibrant Brighton Pier (5 miles), both of which are easily reached by bus. Brighton is packed with fantastic attractions and activities including the Sea Life Centre, the Royal Pavilion, the i360 viewing tower, the chic North Laine area - packed with quirky shops and on-trend eateries - and the grand Regency architecture of the Royal Pavilion and Museums. You’re also just 2 miles from the walking and cycling trails of the South Downs National Park with its rolling hills, ancient woodlands and pretty villages.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
