Set in the heart of the seaside village of Saltdean this wonderful holiday cottage has been stylishly designed throughout to provide a fantastic seaside getaway for couples and families.

Located in the small seaside town of Saltdean, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, this cottage is within easy reach of the famous Saltdean Lido, nearby beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. Keen walkers and cyclists can explore the many trails that the South Downs has to offer. Brighton Marina is a short drive away with its range of restaurants and leisure facilities, whilst the centre of Brighton is a shopper’s paradise offering boutique shopping combined with fantastic places to eat and drink. Children will love exploring the Brighton Sea life Centre, or why not enjoy a walk on the famous pier or a trip up the i360 viewing tower that offers spectacular views along the Sussex coastline.

Enter this stylish and elegant cottage into the hallway, where there is space for dropping off coats and boots. Walk through to the wonderfully light and airy lounge which offers the ideal place to relax after a long walk, on the comfy sofas and armchair. On chilly evenings light the wood burner and curl up with a glass of wine to plan the following days’ adventures or catch up with your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen offers an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and Nespresso coffee machine. The microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the adjacent utility room. Family meals can be enjoyed in the dining room overlooking the garden around the dining table with six chairs, and for those looking to relax with a good book, enjoy spending time in the snug with patio doors that open out onto the garden. Turned stairs from the hallway lead up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms, a king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request), a king-size and a single with sea views. The bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC, and there is also an additional separate WC off the entrance hall.

Outside there is a fully enclosed garden with a patio table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. There is private parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a fantastic family holiday. A lovely well-presented, comfortable house, only a 10min walk from Saltdean beach. With Brighton just a 20min bus ride away, it was a pleasure not to have to drive at all during our stay! This allowed us to make good use of the generous welcome pack provided. We do hope to make a return visit, perhaps for an autumRead moren/winter break next time. Hide

The house is very well situated: a short walk from the beach and shops, also you can step right into the countryside to have nice hiking tours (tours and maps are provided). The welcome is very friendly, the house is very well equipped with everything you need. Jane and Alan helped with every question coming up and gave good ideas for excursions.

A very comfortable stay in a well designed and thoughtfully laid out house.As expats we were able to welcome our british family with ease ,all ages were provide for with kindness and care ,including the dog.The sea is nearby ,and the house itself is calm and quiet.

Everything about Starlings exceeded our expectations. The property was prepared for us in immaculate condition, and came equipped with everything needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It's situated in an ideal spot within walking distance from the beach, local shops and restaurants, and is less than a 10 minute drive from Brighton pieRead morer. Starlings is a wonderful place to stay and all needs catered for. Great place for children and dogs. The welcome hamper was a treat and the owners were very attentive. Delightful holiday location too !!!

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
