Comfortable, Cozy and great for the soul! The beach bung is the absolute perfect getaway regardless of the weather. Sitting at your dining table looking out onto the ocean is the most amazing feeling. We were there during a terrible winter storm and it actually made it even more amazing being able to watch the huge waves from the cozy living room. This cottage is pleasantly situated with sea views but visitors should be made aware there are stools in the kitchen, definitely not the best choice for a high percentage of people over 50. A tight balancing act for 4.

Another wonderful holiday at the very comfortable and well equipped Beach Bung. The view is superb so much so that you can spend all your time sitting relaxing and watching the sea and the sky and then walk along the shingle beach and be quite content. Unmatched in my opinion ... we shall be back.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
