This property is located within the South Downs National Park, in the quiet village of Alciston. Access to the South Downs Way is just a few moments away from the apartment, allowing visitors to enjoy hours of breath-taking walks in some of the country’s most stunning scenery. The neighbouring village of Alfriston is a thriving community with a range of shops, choice of pubs, and a fun family-friendly zoo park: Drusillas. A fifteen-minute drive to the west of the property, the historic town of Lewes makes a wonderful place for a day trip, whilst, to the east, Eastbourne is a traditional seaside resort with a Victorian pier and wide beach.

This property can be found in a secluded location, overlooking fields, making it the perfect spot for a quiet getaway. A set of external wooden stairs leads to the front door of this first-floor apartment, which opens directly into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Two skylights give the room a light and airy feel, under which there is a comfortable sofa and a dining table seating two, as well as a TV. Tucked around a corner, the kitchen area is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There is one bedroom in the apartment: a restful double room which has a dressing table, wardrobe, and a cosy armchair. Just next to the bedroom, the shower room offers a shower and WC. Please note that, due to the rural location, the Wi-Fi signal can only be picked up outside the main house.

Outside, at the top of the stairs which access the property, there is a pleasant balcony area which offers lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The table and chairs here make it easy for guests to enjoy al fresco meals or drinks in these beautiful surroundings, and to take advantage of the peace and quiet. There is ample off-road parking available just next to the apartment.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
