The fully enclosed garden has a raised patio area with garden furniture, a parasol and a charcoal BBQ - ideal for alfresco dining, or perhaps enjoying a quick fish and chips from Pevensey, a mile down the road. Off-road parking for two cars is available at the front of the property.

This bungalow is just 200 metres from a shingle beach that is sandy at low tide, along the stretch of beach where William the Conqueror landed back in 1066. The shops, pubs and castle of Pevensey are 1 mile away, and 2 miles along the coast road is Sovereign Harbour with restaurants, supermarkets and boat trips out to sea. There’s a zoo, two English wine centres, the striking castle of Herstmonceux - the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, and the stunning scenery of Beachy Head within 10 miles of the property, as well as the Victorian grandeur of Eastbourne with its many attractions and the elegant, Art-Deco resort of Bexhill-on-Sea. This is a great base for enjoying the big skies, sea air and fascinating history of this lovely corner of England.

We had a great week at this bungalow. It is in a perfect spot for exploring a lot of the Sussex coast and countryside, and Pevensey beach is 5 mins walk. Bungalow was well equipped and worked well for our family of 4 with 2 young kids.

Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
