This rustic wagon offers the private use of four unique buildings within one idyllic spot in ancient woodland, watch the woodland come to life with the ever changing seasons.

Perfectly situated in the pretty village of Pett, in the heart of the 1066 countryside with spectacular views across the Sussex countryside and out to sea makes this a great escape for couples. An ideal location for keen walkers who can take advantage of numerous footpaths that lead straight from the front door through woodlands and along the Coast, and with two village pubs, a tearoom, and a local butcher, all within walking distance from the property you can easily leave the car at home. Just a short drive away is the beach at nearby Pett Level, an ideal spot for bird watching or to see the unique petrified forest. Hastings Old Town is also nearby, full of restaurants, independent shops, coffee shops and traditional seaside entertainment.

This unique accommodation gives you exclusive use of The  Woodland Wagon which has been lovingly hand built by the owner, a 1940’s Showman’s Wagon, Summer House, Piano Room and a large former Gumbo tent that was featured in the film ‘King Arthur’ and now offers a private space for contemplation, yoga or tai chi.

Entering the Woodland Wagon into the open-plan studio area you are greeted with spectacular woodland views, two comfy chairs, a dining table, and a Smart TV. The kitchen area has all you need to cook a light meal or whip up a snack with a combi microwave oven and electric hob and fridge with ice compartment. After a busy day exploring the local area retreat to the king-size bed for a comfortable night’s sleep. Completing the inside of the wagon is a vanity basin and just a few steps away outside there is a shower room with shower and separate WC.

Heading outside the heart of the woodland  is a bird watches paradise and you will find woodland walks in abundance. Just a few metres from the Woodland Wagon you will find an outdoor seating area and a fire pit for barbecuing. Next to this is the spectacular Gumbo tent with its own log stove and twinkly lights, it is an ideal private space for yoga, tai chi or just relaxing and listening to the sounds of the woodland. A short walk away across the driveway you will find the Piano Room with a piano and wood burner, a great place to curl up with a book or why not treat yourself to a spa treatment.  Continuing along the woodland path leads you to the beautiful 1940's showman's wagon which has a wood burner for those chilly days and spectacular countryside and sea views from the decked seating area.  Heading back down the driveway towards the Woodland Wagon you will find the Summer House where you have use of the commercial pizza oven, camper roast master and an additional fridge. There is private parking for one car

This place is about as good as it gets for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Time under a canopy of trees utilising unique constructs and a generous woodland space makes for a truly connecting experience. We cooked over the open fire and hob. Absolutely stunning retreat!! We loved this hidden gem. Tucked away in the woods, cooking outside, what more could you want? The accommodation was spotless with everything you could possibly need. The hosts were very welcoming and on hand if needed. Highly recommend.

Beautiful & peaceful location in own private woodland. Bluebells were stunning. The wagon which was made by owner Richard is amazing & so comfortable. The Gumbo Tent & outside seating area is unique. The shower was good & gowns were provided for the short walk to & from it. Don't be put off by the compost toilet which is only a few steps away from Read morethe rear of the wagon - it was quite an experience & hygienic. Such a relaxing place to stay. Peaceful surroundings. Comfortable and spacious accommodation. All what you need. Walkable to The Royal Oak pub and the Two Sawyers pub. Walkable to Pett Level beach and Winchelsea Beach. Preferred Winchelsea beach, more amenities available. Overall the Woodland Wagon was a great place to stay.

The Woodland Wagon is a wonderful, secluded haven with real depth of character. The hosts, Cate and Richard, were warm and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The additional 'Gumbo' tent and beautiful Showman's Wagon made for gorgeous evening reading spots. Plenty of lovely walks in the area, wRead moreith excellent pubs and cafes nearby. We loved this unique and wonderful getaway. The woodland wagon was comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
