This delightful pet-friendly property is the ideal base for a couple to visit and explore the very best of Cambridgeshire, with plenty to see and do within easy reach.

The cottage is located in the quaint village of Barrington, which has a shop and a lovely pub on the green. There is a train station in Shepreth, just 1 mile away, with direct links into central Cambridge and London, so you are ideally placed to enjoy the very best of Cambridgeshire and beyond. The National Trust’s Wimpole Hall is within easy reach, as is the beautiful Audley End House which hosts shows and open-air concerts throughout the year. There is a local wildlife park featuring exotic animals including tigers which is a mile away, and for the history lovers among you, head to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford which has regular air displays throughout the year and is where you can see the Lancaster, Spitfire, Vulcan, and Concorde planes up close (7 miles).

You enter this charming and cosy property via the front door which leads you through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a comfortable two-seater sofa and armchair which face the Smart TV. There is also a dining table with two chairs which is ideal for breakfast, lunch, or an evening meal together should you wish to dine in. The kitchen area has everything the foodies among you need to prepare a meal, with its electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The king-size bedroom leads off from the lounge with plenty of storage for your personal items and the shower room with WC leads off from the bedroom.

Outside and to the front of the property, you have a table and two chairs and there is also an enclosed shared seating area with a table and chairs - if you do have a dog this is the perfect spot for them to stretch their legs. There are further shared areas around the owner’s grounds with furniture provided, and by prior arrangement with the owner. There is a shared social area with a TV, sofas, and a small gym which includes a treadmill, cross trainer, exercise bike, and some resistance equipment. The shared outdoor swimming pool and shared hot tub are available daily between 2.00pm - 8.00pm and is accessible for guests by prior arrangement with the owner on your arrival at the property.There is private off-road parking for up to two vehicles.

Amazing few days, weather was glorious and we were able to use the pool, hot tub and boiled on site. Rowena and Ben are so welcoming. Highly recommend.

Had lovely stay at windmill cottages .Ben and Rowena were very friendly and helpful . It was my 60th birthday Rowena gave me lovely massage . And made sure I received the flowers and bubbly that my daughter had sent . We enjoyed the hot tub and pool .fresh chicken eggs were delicious . Found some lovely walks very peaceful area. Most welcoming hosts, beautifully clean accommodation, well equipped and environmentally sensitive. Well located within easy reach of Cambridge in a picturesque village. One of the best holiday lets we have stayed in.

The accommodation is just right for 2 people and a dog.It was comfortable and the space was well thought out.We loved the rain shower, the shower itself was lovely and spacious. Beautiful converted stable with everything you need to have an enjoyable self catering holiday. Very friendly and welcoming family, lovely communal areas and the swimming pool was perfect to use with the warm weather we were lucky enough to have had. Roughly 20 min walk to the train station with direct commutes to Cambridge and London and the localRead more village pub around a 5 minute walk. Our stay at the stables was truly amazing. Top class accommodation with everything (and more) you need. Great location with ample parking. During our stay the local pub was closed (due to covid isolation) but the pub in the next village was a pleasant 20-25 minute walk passing the train station on the way. Easy train journey into Cambridge if you dRead moreon't want to drive or cycle. Lots of other great cycle rides around Barrington. Would definitely recommend the stables - great family welcome. Hide

We had a great time staying in the Victor stable. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, we had all the amenities we could want, and everything was clean and tidy and in good condition. Eastbourne is a bustling seaside resort on the south coast of England. It has been a popular British holiday destination since Victorian times. The town’s attractive pier and promenade is still a major draw for visitors in search of a traditional seaside experience – you can enjoy a long, level stroll along the sea front whilst enjoying an ice cream or some fish and chips. The pebble beach is a good place to park a deckchair and take in the sun, or paddle in the sea. Great for family breaks and as a romantic getaway, the town has much to offer all visitors. The South Downs Way starts in town and extends 100 miles eastwards to Winchester – one of the first stops on the National Trail are the imposing chalk cliffs of the iconic Beachy Head, a few miles to the east of town. Eastbourne is a big hit with train enthusiasts as it’s home to the Spa Valley Railway and the Miniature Steam Railway. Historians may like Redoubt Fort and The Observatory Science Museum (in nearby Herstmonceux). For all-weather attractions for children why not investigate Fort Fun or the indoor Motcombe Swimming Pool? Further afield, and within a one-hour drive to the west is Brighton, with its own pier, wonderful array of shops and eateries. To the west is Bexhill-on-Sea with its impressive art gallery, the De La Warr Pavillion, and long seafront. Just beyond is the old fishing town of Hastings with its new award-winning designer pier, ancient castle and fishing shanty town.
